We train specialists who will handle a wide range of aviation-related professions, including pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft management, and airport operations. Leveraging our strong ties with the aviation industry, we have produced numerous graduates who are active on the front lines, including major airlines. We also offer comprehensive support for obtaining qualifications to assist students in their job search, providing strong support for each student's career development.

To pilots who ensure safe flight operations

The Flight Operations course is appealing because it provides an environment where students can always maintain high motivation towards their goals, from flight training in Arizona to a fulfilling learning environment where all students can use flight simulators, and dormitory life where students always support each other. Many of the instructors have practical experience, including having served as captains at major airlines, and I was very impressed that they taught me not only how to become a pilot, but also the knowledge and mindset needed to become a captain in the future.
Now in my second year with the company, I've completed about a year and a half of ground training and have started co-pilot training. After classroom studies and simulator training, I will begin actual onboard aircraft training in the summer of my third year.
During my ground training, I worked as a passenger service representative, handling counter and arrival duties. The experience of interacting with numerous passengers helped me develop essential pilot skills, such as imagining each individual passenger and ensuring their safe operation. I will continue to strive to become a captain who prioritizes safe flight operations, never forgetting the initial enthusiasm I felt while competing and learning alongside my classmates at university.
 

PROFILE：

Born and raised in Okinawa Prefecture, he grew up close to airplanes from a young age. At first, he was interested in aircraft maintenance and ground handling, but later he aimed to become a pilot. During high school, I participated from Okinawa in an open campus at a university in the Kanto region where I could learn aviation, and was attracted by the opportunity to train both overseas and in Japan, so I aspired to J. F. Oberlin University. He joined AIRDO, based in Hokkaido, and is currently dedicating his days to training to become a co-pilot.

Even though we are far apart, I feel reassured.

The Engineering Support Team, to which I belong, is responsible for making decisions related to aircraft maintenance, such as determining the need for maintenance, deciding on flight cancellations, and issuing maintenance instructions to the field staff in response to aircraft malfunctions. Apparently, it's unprecedented for a new graduate to be assigned to this department. Although this assignment is intended to give me a deep understanding of the maintenance field, as I aspire to work in indirect departments such as the Engineering Department or Quality Control Department in the future, the team is comprised of a small but elite group of veterans. Right now, I'm desperately clinging on to the senior staff around me. Even so, the knowledge I gained at Obirin University has helped me absorb the knowledge and way of thinking required for the job, starting from the training period. My English skills, honed through studying in the United States, have also been a support for me as I face unfamiliar work, and I'm gradually gaining confidence.
What I realized anew after graduating was the strength of the bond with my classmates. We still keep in touch, and sometimes when I look at an airplane in the sky, I think, "Maybe so-and-so was involved in that," or the fact that someone is working at an airport all over the country is very reassuring. We work for different companies, in different jobs, and in different locations, but knowing that my close friends are supporting air safety together makes me feel like I have to work hard too, and I feel like they're sharing their motivation with me.

PROFILE：

Because his home in Chiba Prefecture was close to Narita International Airport, he developed an interest in aviation from elementary school. When I visited J. F. Oberlin University on the open campus, I was drawn to the authentic learning environment equipped with operation procedures and training devices that replicated the cockpit, which led me to decide to enroll in College of Aviation. After graduation, he joined Japan Transocean Air, which serves two roles: 'Regional Wing' and 'Tourist Wing.' Currently, he is involved in flight maintenance (line maintenance), which involves inspecting and maintaining aircraft between and before flights.

Big dreams are a source of motivation for growth.

I work at a store in the international passenger terminal building, and about 70% of our customers are from overseas. College of Aviation focuses on improving my English skills, and while I was still in school, my TOEIC® score increased by more than 200 points. As a high-end brand, it is important to spend time on customer service, so the English skills I developed at university are directly connected to my daily work.
What impressed me most during my time at university was the numerous opportunities I had to visit airports and see behind the scenes of airport operations. The department had strong ties to the aviation industry, and we were provided with excellent opportunities to deepen our understanding of airport operations, such as tours of back areas that are off-limits to passengers. Of course, the knowledge I gained about airport facilities and management in lectures has helped me to view airport management from a broader perspective and to understand the company's vision.
My current job offers many opportunities to learn from directly interacting with customers visiting the airport. My goal for the future is to use this experience to contribute to airport management from a broader perspective. Haneda Airport is still undergoing renovations and is evolving. I will continue to work hard towards my dream of one day making Haneda Airport the best airport in the world.
 

PROFILE：

After a high school year where I was passionate about soccer, I joined a J. F. Oberlin University where I could study the aviation industry, which I had been interested in since childhood, just as I was about to enter university. From my second year, I chose a course and aimed to become an airport staff member, and during my job search, I received a job offer from my first-choice company, Japan Airport Building. After completing new employee training, I was seconded to Haneda Airport Enterprise, a group company that operates merchandise retail stores and duty-free shops, gaining on-site experience. Currently, he is responsible for purchasing and managing products at duty-free shops at Haneda Airport International Terminal.

I passed the air traffic controller recruitment exam while still a student!
Taking the first step towards the dream you've always longed for.

It's been about a year since I started working as an air traffic controller. Currently, I'm involved in both aerodrome control, which covers the airspace around airports and aircraft taking off and landing on runways, and ground control, which covers aircraft and vehicles on taxiways. Air traffic control is a job that can never be done alone. I find great satisfaction and enjoyment in working as part of a team to support safe and efficient operations.
What supports these tasks is the knowledge and experience I gained during my university years. At J. F. Oberlin, I gained not only knowledge related to air traffic control duties such as meteorology and aviation English, but also a broad range of knowledge about how aircraft work works, which became a strength that allowed me to think deeply about my work as an air traffic controller. One of the charms of College of Aviation is that you can grow without worrying about science or humanities tracks.
The air traffic controller recruitment exam is by no means easy. My time in the air traffic control course was the most intense period of my life. However, it was the effort and sense of growth I experienced there that has allowed me to maintain a continuous learning attitude even after graduation. I never particularly enjoyed studying in high school, but I was able to change because of my university years, when I worked hard to achieve my dream. To all of you aiming to become air traffic controllers, I encourage you to take advantage of the environment at Obirin University and challenge yourselves to achieve your big goals!
 
 

PROFILE：

Aspiring to a career using English, I decided to pursue a career in the aviation industry during my junior high school years. Attracted by the stable work environment, I set my sights on becoming an air traffic controller and enrolled in the air traffic control course as a member of the first graduating class. I passed the notoriously difficult air traffic controller recruitment exam in my fourth year of university, and after graduation, underwent eight months of basic training at the Aviation Security College before being assigned to Nagasaki Airport. After specialized training, I passed the skills test in June 2025. Enjoying Nagasaki is now my precious time to relax and switch between work and personal life.

In the first year, students from all courses study together, and from the second year onwards, they specialize in their chosen courses. In addition to focusing on improving English skills, which are essential for success in the aviation industry, students can choose their seminars (specialized workshops) from their third year onwards, regardless of their course of study, according to their interests. Through research activities, students hone their problem-solving and logical thinking skills. One of the features of the program is the small class size system, which fosters close relationships with faculty and classmates. The bonds forged with faculty and classmates over the four years become a strength that will continue even after graduation, allowing students to support the world of aviation together in different professions and fields.
