Inquiries regarding contract research
As a manifestation of J. F. Oberlin University 's motto "Learning and serving people," we conduct commissioned research in response to external needs with the aim of widely returning the university's research resources to society and contributing to the development of society, economy, and culture.
We hope that the technologies, knowledge, and know-how created through our university's research activities will be utilized by companies and other organizations to help with product commercialization and the resolution of various challenges.
Contract research
"Contract research" refers to research activities conducted at this university by researchers affiliated with the university, commissioned by external organizations. The "contract research expenses" required for the research are borne by the commissioning party (company, etc.).
If intellectual property rights arise as a result of "contract research," this will be determined in a "Contract Research Agreement" after consultation between the client and the university.
Scholarship and research donations
In addition, we are also widely accepting "scholarship research donations" aimed at supporting the research activities of researchers at our university.
"Scholarship and research donations" are eligible for tax benefits for companies that make the donation, provided certain requirements are met.
For details regarding "Scholarship Research Donations," please contact the Alumni and Alumni Affairs Division, Fundraising Office (contact information).
