External evaluation of international exchange

The British higher education magazine "THE (Times Higher Education)" has announced the results of the THE Japan University Rankings 2023, and our university was ranked 111-120th overall and 37th in the Tokyo metropolitan area. This ranking was renamed from "THE World University Rankings Japan Edition" to "THE Japan University Rankings" starting in 2023. Designed to better reflect the appeal and characteristics of universities in Japan, the ranking measures the "educational power" of universities and publishes rankings in each area: "educational resources," "educational enrichment," "educational outcomes," and "internationalization." In addition to the overall ranking, our university was ranked in Educational Resources (201+), Educational Richness (73), Educational Outcomes (80), and Internationalization (45).

J. F. Oberlin University underwent the evaluation of "Selection Evaluation Item C: Status of Internationalization of Education" conducted by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Academic Programs, an independent administrative institution, in fiscal year 2016 (Heisei 28). After submitting the self-evaluation form to the organization, and following written and on-site surveys, we were able to receive the following high evaluation as of March 23, 2017 (Heisei 29).

"The achievement of objectives is extremely good," "Regarding 'building an international educational environment,' it is outstanding beyond the general standard; regarding 'accepting foreign students,' it is generally excellent; and for 'dispatching domestic students overseas,' it is generally excellent."

We humbly accept the feedback provided in this evaluation and keep in mind our university's mission of "cultivating international individuals based on Christian spirit," while continuing to actively pursue human resource development from a global perspective.
