J. F. Oberlin's Privacy Policy

J. F. Oberlin University and Affiliated Schools affirms the intrinsic worth of all individuals — applicants, students, legal guardians, faculty, and staff — associated with the foundation, and of personal information pertaining to them. Accordingly, it has established regulations for the protection of personal information and will undertake:

  1. To clarify the reasons for gathering information in specific cases, and to limit the use of such information to the minimum needed to fulfill that purpose.
  2. To respect individual rights regarding personal information, and to respond appropriately, on a department-by-department or office-by-office basis, to all written requests for the disclosure, emendation, or deletion of personal information.
  3. Not to disclose or provide personal information to third parties except in cases where permission has been obtained in advance, or where otherwise permitted by law.
  4. To take necessary and appropriate security measures to prevent inappropriate access to personal information or loss, destruction, alteration, or leakage thereof.
  5. To provide necessary and appropriate supervision for the protection of personal information when outsourcing work to third parties.
  6. To require faculty and staff to enforce its regulations for the protection of personal information, and to review and improve systems and for the protection of personal information on a continuing basis.
  7. To continue to provide and exchange necessary information with graduates and legal guardians via the alumni association and parents' association, in accordance with the provisions of the law, and to the extent desirable for mutual fellowship and intercourse, and for the further development of the school.
