J. F. Oberlin University The National Research Institute promotes a variety of projects that bring together diverse knowledge within the university and contribute research results to society. We introduce our university's research activities that approach contemporary social issues flexibly and systematically.
Strategic Research Projects (General Research Division)
"Short-term, intensive, interactive research activities that bring together knowledge within the university."
These are highly agile projects with a defined activity period of three years or less. They will create new academic value by linking existing educational organizations (undergraduate and graduate schools) across different frameworks and fostering the interactive intersection of diverse knowledge within the university. Starting in 2026, a select group of projects that will become pillars of the next generation will begin.

- Comprehensive Gerontology Research Project (Institute)

- International Exchange Project
We promote broad exchanges in academia and industry by developing activities that serve as a bridge between international academic and cultural spheres, including joint programs with overseas educational institutions (such as short-term training programs in Japan) and the "Japan-China Business Salon." - Yasuzo Shimizu Memorial Project
This is an in-house project that researches and documents the philosophy and educational practices of Obirin Gakuen's founder, Yasuzo Shimizu, and carries on and disseminates the results of that research. It is an activity that connects the identity of our school to the future.
