At College of Health and Welfare, we aim to nurture individuals who can contribute to each individual's health and happiness.
The challenges of modern society are extremely complex, and there are many things that individuals alone cannot handle. To solve such challenges, I hope you will not only make use of your own "specialized knowledge and skills (expertise)" but also aim to cooperate with others while respecting your expertise. To achieve this, we believe it is important to learn through various university experiences that diverse ways of thinking, recognize the differences between oneself and others, and on that basis, be able to empathize with each person's wishes, concerns, and joys.
College of Health and Welfare 's curriculum allows students to learn about health and welfare in the classroom, while also engaging in activities such as children's playgrounds, community spaces, and sports with seniors and people with disabilities outside the university. By experiencing such programs from the first year, we foster professionals who realize healthy lives for all and promote welfare.

PROFILE
In 1993, he graduated from California State University, Fresno. In 1996, he completed the master's program in Education at the Graduate School of Letters, Tamagawa University. In 2001, he withdrew from the doctoral program at the Graduate School of International Studies, J. F. Oberlin University before obtaining the required degree. In 2018, he received his Ph.D. (Academic Studies) from the same university. After serving as a part-time researcher at the University Standards Association and as an academic researcher at the University Education Development and Support Center at Rikkyo University, he has served as a full-time lecturer at J. F. Oberlin University since 2006, then as an associate professor, and since 2018 as a College of Health and Welfare professor. 2021–2023 College of Health and Welfare Assistant Student Councilor. Appointed as College of Health and Welfare President in April 2024. He received the 'Common Research Encouragement Award' from the Principles of Home Economics Division of the Japan Home Economics Association (2008) and the 'Kametaka Academic Publishing Award' (2020).
