I started playing volleyball because of my older brother and sister.

Influenced by my older brother and sister, who belonged to a junior club team, volleyball was a familiar sport to me from a young age. I also started playing seriously after entering elementary school. Practicing six times a week was tough, but I enjoyed playing volleyball with everyone, and I've continued to live a life immersed in volleyball ever since.

I decided to attend J. F. Oberlin University because I wanted to play on the same court as my sister, who was in her fourth year at the time. It was only one year, but I was happy to play together in practice and matches.

Put pressure on your opponent with your serve and block.

I've been the team captain since the 2024 season. We have a lot of mentally strong members, so I try to be positive and encouraging. Even so, we still get nervous before matches, so I try to communicate with each person in a way that suits their individual state. At the same time, I believe it's also necessary to inspire my teammates through my own play. I try not to give up on even the slightest ball and chase after it to the very end. I go into practice and matches believing that my teammates will follow me.

Currently, we are focusing on strengthening our serves and blocks. If we can disrupt our opponents with our serves, we can control the flow of the match to our advantage. We also want to hone our skills so that they become weapons, as it will increase our offensive options. If our blocks are effective, we will be able to put psychological pressure on our opponents. We want to improve the team's level by analyzing what we did well and what we didn't do well in the spring league matches.

We can unite as one towards victory.

This year, we achieved our best-ever result in the spring league, winning 3 matches and finishing 9th in the league. We also won the Emperor's Cup and Empress's Cup All Japan Championship (Tokyo Preliminary Round) for the first time in the club's history, and we feel that we are building our ideal team. By combining the freshness of our first and second-year students with the experience of our third and fourth-year students, we aim to win the All Japan University Women's Volleyball Championship and the autumn league.

I'm still undecided about whether to continue playing volleyball after graduating from university. However, whatever path I choose, I want to become a working adult who can achieve goals while involving those around me.

J. F. Oberlin University girls' volleyball team can communicate regardless of grade level, and everyone can freely express what they want without reservation. Even members who aren't wearing uniforms are a bright team united in the pursuit of victory. We will continue to work hard and practice to achieve our goals, so we appreciate your support.
