I started playing volleyball in junior high school.

I've been dedicated to karate since I was a child. I started playing volleyball in junior high school, but it wasn't a top-ranked school, and looking back now, I feel like I was just going through the motions during practice. Even so, I was able to join the Kanagawa Prefecture select team and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play with high-level players.

For high school, I went on to Kawasaki Municipal Tachibana High School, a powerhouse school. The training and the surrounding level were completely different from junior high. Joining a team aiming to be number one in Japan trained both physically and mentally. I wanted to continue playing volleyball in a high-level environment at university. While considering my next career path, I happened to find out I had a connection with a coach at J. F. Oberlin University. Through various conversations, I was drawn to the boys' volleyball team's training environment and the J. F. Oberlin University school culture, which led me to enroll.

It's important to always focus on the one thing right in front of you.

I started playing regularly in matches from the fall league of my second year of university. Many of my teammates are also key players, and we practice every day, pushing each other to improve. The growth of the younger players is essential for the team to improve. I try to create a good atmosphere for playing volleyball by communicating easily with them and boosting the team's morale.

In the 2025 Spring League, we achieved the best possible result, winning every match, and were promoted to the second division. However, not every match went smoothly; in one match, we lost a set 31-33. That match was tough until the very end, but we managed to regroup and win in a full set. The key to our victory was our focus on each point and our tenacious fighting spirit as a team.

Determined to win, aiming for a spot in the All Japan Intercollegiate Championships.

We're not satisfied with just being back in the second division. It might be difficult to immediately achieve top results, but we're determined to win and qualify for the All Japan Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship (All Japan University Men's Volleyball Championship).

Personally, I see blocking and serving as areas that need improvement. I'm a middle blocker, but I'm not particularly tall. That's why I need to hone my skills so I can move faster than my opponents and block from a high position. With my serve, I want to disrupt the opponent's reception as much as possible. If I can narrow their attacking options, it will give us an advantage in blocking as well. Of course, I'll be aggressive in trying to score points with my serve, but I also want to focus on serves that lead to blocks.

J. F. Oberlin University The boys' volleyball club is mainly composed of third-year students, so next year we can have almost the same lineup, which is a strength. In the autumn league, we will always aim for improvement and build momentum to achieve promotion to Division 1 while still in school. Everyone can raise their voices and have a unique J. F. Oberlin University Boys' Volleyball Club, please pay close attention. Thank you for your support!
