Composer/Musician

As a leading musician
Continuing to create songs that leave a lasting impression on people

I chose J. F. Oberlin University because it was a university where I could learn music from the basics and not only focus on art but also cover a wide range of humanities subjects.
During my student days, I studied music whenever I had free time. I thought that classical music was the best way to learn the fundamentals of music, so I joined the university orchestra and spent every day practicing the double bass. I was completely immersed in music. Also, being in the orchestra gave me many opportunities to interact with superiors such as student affairs staff and external musicians, which allowed me to learn how to behave as a working adult, and I had a very enjoyable time.
I will continue to create music with all my might as long as I am needed. I don't want to be too fixated on my own musical style, but rather I want to create music that reaches many people while valuing communication with others. My goal is to create songs that people will never forget after hearing them just once. I also hope to expand my activities overseas.
To all students, I recommend that you make the most of your time during your student years by dedicating it to learning, as an investment in your future. This includes not only studying, but also part-time jobs and spending time with friends—these are all important forms of learning. I hope you will challenge yourself in various ways during your student years and cultivate a resilient spirit. A strong heart will enable you to succeed in any job once you enter the workforce. I hope you will develop the ability to challenge yourself without fear of failure, and the ability to set goals and persevere during your student years.

AMYGDALA FILMS Representative and Film Director

A starting point for thinking about social issues together
I believe in the power of movies.

"If Only I Could Hibernate" was the first ever Mongolian feature film to be submitted to the official section of the Cannes International Film Festival. This film is directed by Zorjargal Prevdash, a Mongolian alumnus of this university. The film focuses on the poverty that underlies the serious air pollution problem in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and depicts the problems faced by children.
Having studied filmmaking at this university and now working as a film director after graduation, she says, "Looking back, the encounters and experiences I had in Japan have become the foundation of who I am today. When I was in high school and dreamed of pursuing a career in film, I learned that Obirin University had a film course and that they were accepting two exchange students from my high school. I was convinced that this was my chance, and I studied hard for the entrance exam. During my time there, I learned from teachers who knew the film industry, and I grew to love movies so much that I couldn't imagine living without them. When I received emails of praise from teachers who had seen this film, I couldn't help but shed tears." Despite the narrow gate, Zorjargal challenged herself with determination and realized her dream. She will continue to use the power of film to tackle problems in her home country.

There's no need to rush.
Let's create our own unique weapons.

"Various people gather at this university, including some unidentified life forms. That's fine." "Anyone can challenge anything." The words of Professor Kuniko Kisanuki, who spoke to me at the Oberlin Open Campus, resonated with me, who wanted to learn more about expression but didn't know exactly what I should do. It was through that encounter that I enrolled at J. F. Oberlin University that I spent every day filled with continuous learning, and I spent my days frantically engaged. Currently, I work as a dancer, actor, choreographer, director, model, and dancer, but what I focus on is "creating my own unique weapon." As an artist, I value refining and striving to be second to anyone else.
Through my expressive activities, I aim to realize a society where people can understand each other and pursue a longing for peace. I want to express my own thoughts on various issues occurring both domestically and internationally, and expand the circle of art to a wide range of generations. J. F. Oberlin University offers endless challenges for self-exploration, training, and estimation at your own discretion. But waiting won't bring you anything. Both the ascents and descents of the mountain pass are fun, and you can set your highest points daily and help your friends improve together! As long as you don't stray from 'humanity,' failure can still be considered a minor injury for university students. Let's keep getting hurt one after another!
