Course group overview
This group of subjects systematically teaches the "social structures" and "legal rules" that form the foundation of business. Through economics, students understand market movements and financial mechanisms, while legal subjects cover commercial law, labor law, intellectual property law, and other laws that support corporate activities. Students develop the judgment and ethical sense necessary to accurately interpret social and economic changes and build fair and sustainable businesses. By viewing business from both economic and legal perspectives, students acquire a practical perspective that enables sound management decisions.

Sotaro Kogure
Through my studies at J. F. Oberlin University, I began to feel that 'the world has become much closer,' and I began to dream of 'working at a trading company.' Additionally, by studying abroad at the University of Memphis through the BMGO program, I came to appreciate the excitement of international business through local learning and exposure to different cultures. My experience in Memphis, known as a logistics hub, was a major trigger for me to imagine trading companies.
In my seminar (International Business Studies), I am researching the relationship between credit card usage data and economic activity, and through discussions with my professor and classmates, I am learning how daily consumer trends affect business. My studies at Obirin University and my experience living abroad have given me the confidence to pursue my dreams.
