Main content
On Saturday, May 9th, the first International Sports Festival was held at the Machida Campus, fostering cultural exchange between Japanese and international students through sports. Based on the Japanese school culture of "Japanese sports days," events included ball toss, tug-of-war, and relay races. Despite it being a weekend, over 70 students participated, enjoying the opportunity for international exchange.
Participants from diverse backgrounds! A platform for exchange that transcends national, regional, and academic disciplines.
This Events included many international and Japanese students from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Myanmar, the United States, and Brazil. About 40% of participants were first-year students, but many actively communicated across academic disciplines, ages, and backgrounds.
A campus where everyone can be the star.
Students who participated shared comments such as, "It was fun to experience Japanese culture," "I made many new foreign friends," and "I gained confidence in my English," indicating a very positive outlook on intercultural exchange.
Additionally, this Events was supported by the university's officially recognized international exchange organization, "Global Supporters," who made significant student-led contributions from planning to preparation and operation on the day.
