Nishiyama Seminar holds workshop on industry-academia collaboration in advertising expression.
Main content
On Wednesday, October 21st, the Nishiyama Seminar, which focuses on advertising and marketing, held a workshop on advertising expression with Onion Co., Ltd.
Onion Co., Ltd. is an advertising production company that handles the planning and production of TV commercials and web videos, and is conducting research and developing tools to prevent online controversies using generative AI.
In this workshop, we deepened our understanding by comparing advertisements that caused controversy, those that did not, and those that garnered high levels of empathy, and discussing the differences between them and what elements contribute to controversy.
In the Nishiyama Seminar, we are involved in public relations support activities for the Shinjuku campus and the Shin-Okubo shopping district, and the students who took the course were able to learn about points to be careful about when conducting such information dissemination activities.
Furthermore, from the perspective of someone creating advertisements, I learned the importance of considering various values and perspectives.
Onion Inc. gained new insights into how students perceive and receive advertisements.
Going forward, our university intends to hold similar workshops regularly and promote research activities that can be applied to practical work through industry-academia collaboration.
