On Thursday, April 23rd, the Japan-China Investment Promotion Organization and our university co-hosted the 2026 Industry-Government-Academia Japan-China Business Exchange Meeting at the Shinjuku Campus.

Representatives from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Japan, the Commercial Section of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, the Japan-China Investment Promotion Organization, and other regional representatives from the Chugoku region, as well as member companies of the Japan-China Investment Promotion Organization, visited our university. From our university, 160 people participated, including faculty members and graduate students (business administration). The second part of the event, a social gathering, was attended by Japanese government officials, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' China and Mongolia Division II and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Northeast Asia Division, resulting in a lively exchange of ideas.

Amidst the increasingly uncertain international situation, including the deterioration of Japan-China relations and the potential war with Iran, economic and business exchanges between Japan and China have become even more important. Attendees from industry, government, and academia discussed everything from building economic relations to future prospects, engaging in a fruitful exchange of opinions on the need to steadily work on what is feasible.

Many students from our university participated in this exchange event, which helped them deepen their understanding of the business world. Going forward, we plan to leverage the excellent location of our Shinjuku campus to enhance the learning experience as part of our talent development program.
