On Friday, July 31, we held the "Summer Barbecue Party to Meet the World" hosted by the International Department.
In this Events, volunteer students from six countries—Japan, China, South Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Myanmar—spent about two months devising menus, creating recipes, and shopping for ingredients from each country, serving each country's proud flavors to the participants.

120 students participated on the day!

75 Japanese students and 45 international students participated, and everyone enjoyed interacting with each other in their own way, regardless of year, faculty, or nationality, making new friends, sharing recipes, and exchanging languages.

Discover the world of Asia through food

Experiencing authentic flavors that are rarely found domestically provided an opportunity to experience different Asian countries from the perspective of their food culture, and it also served as a valuable chance to rediscover the presence of international students studying alongside us on campus.

It was great to be able to easily experience the cultures and cuisines of various countries!
The meals prepared by each country were all delicious, and it was a truly wonderful time.
I've always wanted to eat Faruda, so I'm happy to be able to eat it at this Events. Next time, I want to try Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine too!
I was so happy to be able to enjoy meat from various countries. Besides the word "delicious," the look of joy on their faces when I spoke in their respective languages is an unforgettable memory.
I might have made more friends today than I did during the spring semester, because I talked to so many different people and had a great time. Thank you!

The International Department will continue to actively provide students with opportunities for international exchange and cross-cultural experiences that can be easily enjoyed on campus.
