Two domestic exchange students from Okinawa present the results of their six months of study.

This academic year, starting in April, we accepted nine students from Okinawa International University and Okinawa Christian Gakuin University, two of whom completed their six-month study abroad period. The two studied a wide range of fields in our university's College of Arts and Sciences and College of Business Management, and deepened their learning in a different environment through seminar activities and student interactions.

When asked what prompted her to decide to study abroad within Japan, she recalled, "As I went through university life, I started to wonder if this was okay, so I thought I'd try studying abroad at a university in Tokyo for six months." She said that studying at the university was stimulating because of the different environment from Okinawa and the encounters with students who had diverse ways of thinking. "There was never a moment when I regretted coming. The course content was excellent, and the people around me were all at a high level in their respective fields, so there were times when I felt anxious. But by spending time in that environment, my own skills improved, and I was able to achieve results. I'm really glad I came," she said.

"I wanted to study and live at a university outside Okinawa. One of the reasons I decided to study domestically was J. F. Oberlin University my interest in classes on tourism and aviation."
In actual study at our university, I actively participated not only in specialized classes but also in seminar activities. In an environment different from usual, I was able to gain a lot of learning and insights.

Through their six-month study abroad program within Japan, the two students challenged themselves in new environments and experienced a wide range of learning and interactions. Building on these experiences, they will now take new steps in their respective fields.
