Research and Data Analysis Laboratory (Kawasaki (Masaru) Seminar)

Research lab activities: Deciphering decision-making processes in individuals, organizations, and markets from diverse data.

Using diverse data and information, we analyze the characteristics of decision-making and behavior in individuals, organizations, and markets, and explore the underlying social and psychological factors. In addition to business research targeting employees and customers, students choose themes of interest, such as sports and music, and engage in empirical research. We also actively participate in projects in collaboration with real companies and local communities, and ultimately aim to compile research findings into a graduation thesis through individual research.

Learning points

  1. Develop research planning and design skills.
  2. Develop analytical skills to interpret diverse data.
  3. Through collaboration, we cultivate the ability to successfully complete research and projects.

Message from the instructor Data analysis might sound daunting. However, intellectual curiosity is key. Asking "why?" about human psychology and social dynamics is the starting point for research. In data science, there isn't always just one right answer. Even with the same data, what you see changes depending on the perspective from which you interpret it and how you interpret it. That's why I hope you'll enjoy the process of confronting questions while developing your own ideas and engaging in discussions with your peers. Let's work together on research that uses data to explore people, society, and management.
