Integrated Area / Gender Studies Program

Program Overview

In our homes, schools, and workplaces, the idea that "women are like this" and "men are like that" is deeply ingrained, and as a result, there are people who suffer from difficulties in living and working. This program examines the current situation from a gender perspective and aims to create a society where everyone, regardless of gender, can demonstrate their abilities.

Gender Sociology

We begin by questioning the meaning of the concept of gender and learn basic knowledge about gender. Then, we consider issues that are at stake in relation to gender in various fields such as care, education, labor, sports, and war. Through this process, we aim to understand the diverse forms of sexuality that go beyond the male-female dichotomy and acquire the qualities necessary for a multicultural society from a gender perspective.
