Liberal arts is a "buffet" of learning.
College of Arts and Sciences has 4 Area 32 programs. Unlike other university faculties and departments, you don't necessarily have to choose a specific major program, and you can change your major midway. If we compare it to a restaurant where your department specializes in cuisine, then Liberal Arts is a buffet-style restaurant with 32 different dishes. You can select several dishes you're interested in, taste them, and then choose the dishes—that is, apply for a major or minor (minor)—only after enrollment (specifically, in the case of spring admission, during the fall semester of your second year). This is called late specialization. The appeal of College of Arts and Sciences lies in the relatively free trial and error in learning and the freedom to go back and forth. We support you as you take the first step toward new learning.
PROFILE
Withdrew from the doctoral program in psychology at Waseda University Graduate School of Letters after completing the coursework. PhD (Literature).
Specializes in research on stress and mental health among workers, as well as psychological support in industrial settings. He joined J. F. Oberlin University College of Arts and Sciences in 2008, became a professor in 2016, served as Area Director (Humanities) in 2018, and assumed his current position in 2024.
