K-POP cover dance group "Brisk" wins first place in the GIRLS division of the national competition "UNIKP 2026 Vol.14"!

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO), the university K-POP cover dance team 'UNIKP 2026 Vol.14 Finals' held at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO), the K-POP cover dance club 'Brisk' from J. F. Oberlin University Shinjuku Campus won the GIRLS division with a grand victory.

This competition is a nationwide cover dance contest where numerous clubs from universities across the country participate and compete on the overall quality of their performance, including dance, choreography, and direction.
In this competition, "Brisk" adopted the theme of "The Art Museum at Night" and showcased a highly original performance that utilized large props to create a sense of depth. They received high praise from the judging panel, which consisted of professional dancers and choreographers, and achieved their long-awaited national championship (number one in Japan).

Comment from Ayami Miyata (College of Business Management, 4th year)

We advanced to the finals after finishing first in the Kanto regional qualifiers. This time, our goal was "absolute victory," and all 42 of us dedicated ourselves to it every day. We are truly happy that we were able to achieve our long-awaited complete victory.

For the fourth-year students, there was a strong desire to finally achieve victory in this tournament, which they had been competing in since 2023, and to win the championship in their final competition. After finishing third two years ago and runner-up last year, they faced the tournament without compromise until the very end, keeping in mind the promise they had made to their seniors and classmates to "definitely win" this year.

The second and third-year students who followed us always gave their all in practice and auditions, working hard towards the single goal of winning the championship. I believe that the fact that all 42 of us worked together as teammates, pushing each other to improve and constantly battling ourselves, led to this victory.

I myself served as a coordinator with two of my classmates, and I experienced firsthand the difficulty of balancing team management with creating the final product and its structure. Nevertheless, it was thanks to the cooperation of my reliable and admirable classmates and juniors that we were able to persevere until the very end and create a product that everyone could be satisfied with.

This tournament marks the end of an era for the fourth-year students, but I believe that their proud younger teammates, who have worked so hard alongside them, will continue to make Brisk even more exciting. I hope they will continue to be true to the spirit of Brisk, cherishing their teammates and striving for even greater heights.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was involved, including the members, seniors, tournament organizers, university staff, and my family and friends who supported us. I hope you will continue to show lots of love and support for Brisk in the future.
