Onaka Seminar participates in joint seminar of universities in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

In the spring semester, from April, monthly study sessions were held in rotation among participating schools, and on June 20, 2026, students and faculty gathered at Tokubokan in J. F. Oberlin University for debate. Furthermore, from September 12 to 13, a two-day joint seminar camp was held at Hachioji University Seminar House, where each group presented their interim research results and completed the main outline of their thesis writing.

Kim, a student representative who participated, shared her impressions, saying, "It was a time to learn something by interacting with people from different schools and nationalities. I think history and international issues also start from such different perspectives." Aikawa said, "By researching materials and writing papers on my own, I got used to organizing my own opinions. Also, meeting people I wouldn't have been involved with without joining the joint seminar was a valuable experience," and Nagata added, "It was a valuable experience to complete a single paper with students from other universities, something you can't get at our university."

At first, the students were confused, but as they held study sessions, they became friends beyond the university boundaries, became more confident and confidently expressed their opinions in front of large groups, and I felt their growth. This is truly realizing inter-university exchange, and we can see the resilience of J. F. Oberlin University students. We look forward to seeing many Obiliners from different academic disciplines, grades, and nationalities participating in the future.
