A local junior high school participated in "International Exchange Day"! International students shared the charms of their home countries.

On Saturday, July 4th, international students from our university participated as lecturers at the Events "International Exchange Day" held at Machida City Shinkoji Junior High School. In this Events, the students introduced their home countries to the junior high school students. On the day, a total of nine international students from three countries—Nepal, Vietnam, and Myanmar—participated, interacting with about 150 junior high school students gathered in the gymnasium.

For this Events, the international students practiced in advance and proactively prepared materials from the perspective of junior high school students, such as selecting slide content and photos.

The presentations on the day included not only basic information such as the country's location and population, but also fascinating topics such as food culture, beautiful landmarks, traditional events, and the differences between junior high school life in Japan and the local area. Furthermore, beyond presenting materials, the presentation included actual demonstrations of traditional costumes, quizzes that junior high students could easily participate in, and practice greetings in the local language, among other creative ideas.

In addition, there were opportunities to try traditional games and to experience applying traditional sunscreen used locally to their faces, and the junior high school students actively participated and enjoyed themselves.

We hope that this international exchange will give the junior high school students a glimpse into the fact that "the world is vast and full of diverse cultures and ways of thinking," and that "there are many possibilities for their future."
