Obirin Gakuen began when Mr. Yasuzo Shimizu, who traveled to China, rescued starving children and established a place of education. Mr. Haokai Wu carries on the spirit of "learning to serve others," which the founder practiced. Influenced by his father, who dreamed of studying in Japan but was unable to realize it, Mr. Wu diligently studied Japanese from an early age.
"I chose J. F. Oberlin University because I was attracted to the faculty system, which allows students to study not only their specialized fields but also a wide range of adjacent fields," he says.
Wu went on to graduate school and earned a master's degree. She then entered the doctoral program, but a turning point eventually came.
"Due to family circumstances, it became difficult to stay in Japan. I struggled a lot, but I decided to drop out. Although I had to return to Japan in an unexpected way, the person who played a major role in my decision to find a job was my university mentor, Professor Ken Kanayama. GES Corporation offered me the idea of serving as the representative at the Shanghai office of J. F. Oberlin University, which was established by GES Inc. I wanted to seize this opportunity, so I decided to join."
A bond with his mentor led him to engage with J. F. Oberlin University in his home country. Currently, I am engaged in public relations activities with local school corporations and developing educational programs, but what has been helpful in supporting students is my long study abroad experience spanning seven and a half years.
"During my master's program, I also mentored younger students aiming to go on to graduate school. I worked hard to encourage students who were about to give up, and I enthusiastically taught them how to write research proposals logically. When they successfully passed, I was as happy as if it were my own achievement. In my current job, I want to pass on what I've learned and experienced to younger students. I want to help as many students as possible pass and share in their joy," says Wu.

Continuing important exchanges with mentors even now as working adults. I still maintain a close relationship with my mentor, Mr. Ken Kanayama. When he visited Japan on a business trip, they shared a meal together and rejoiced at their long-awaited reunion. Mr. Wu was able to show his growth as a working adult. After spending seven and a half years, J. F. Oberlin University is now my second hometown.
Then
The Japanese speaking skills I acquired through club activities: When I first started studying abroad, I struggled with speaking Japanese. To overcome this, I joined the rugby club, which I had no prior experience in, and improved my skills by communicating with the other members. I practiced diligently without taking any breaks and also played in matches. I also developed perseverance.

Graduated in 2019 College of Business Management.
Completed the master's program in Business Administration in 2023.
In October 2023, he joined GES Inc. J. F. Oberlin University As the representative of the Shanghai office, she supports Chinese students aspiring to study in Japan.

Established in July 2004, the company consistently provides support for Chinese students, from recruitment activities to their studies in Japan, including the development of joint Japan-China educational programs and the operation of local offices in China for various Japanese universities.
