Innovation and New Business Creation Laboratory (Suzuki Seminar)

Practical activities related to creating new businesses based on one's own aspirations.

The goal is to learn methodologies for creating new products, services, and business models through "practical activities" and to acquire these skills through experiential learning. This approach will be useful (1) when you create new businesses at the company you join in the future, and (2) when you start your own business.

Learning points

  1. Thorough customer understanding and verification of pressing needs based on interviews, etc.
  2. A rapid learning cycle through challenges and failures
  3. Practical activities aimed at acquiring external resources

Instructor Katsuhiro Suzuki
Message from the instructor Based on the individual "free ideas" of each seminar student, we will challenge ourselves to create new businesses. In the case of unprecedented business ideas, we will aim to solve urgent needs by thoroughly understanding customers through interviews and other means.
Furthermore, in the case of a somewhat established business, we attempt a grounded and realistic launch while being mindful of differentiating ourselves from competitors. Progress is often slow, but learning can be found in failure. We value proactive challenges and activities.

Voices of seminar students

  • I have a close relationship with my fellow seminar students, and we can talk about anything without hesitation.
  • You will be required to take initiative, but you can choose a topic that you are passionate about.
