To deepen learning according to each student's interests and future goals, we offer a variety of faculties, graduate schools, and special courses.
Under the cluster system, students can not only acquire knowledge in their specialized fields but also broaden their horizons to adjacent Area to build their own unique learning.

From seven academic disciplines—liberal arts, global communication, business management, health and welfare, arts and culture, aviation, and educational inquiry sciences—to advanced research in graduate school and Japanese learning in Institute for Japanese Language and Culture, we introduce the fields of learning unique to Obirin.

Our aim is to cultivate a free, interdisciplinary way of thinking that transcends the boundaries of a single specialization, by deeply studying expertise in various fields according to one's interests while simultaneously engaging with a wide range of academic disciplines. In addition, through experiences such as studying abroad and service learning, students will develop the ability to understand international perspectives and diverse cultures, and the capacity to contribute to society through academics. We aim to nurture internationally-minded "independent learners" who contribute to society through diverse academic disciplines.

The program spans two tracks: "Business," which focuses on industries and sectors, and "Management," which covers skills, functions, and job roles. Leveraging its Shinjuku location, the program offers abundant practical learning opportunities, including study abroad, domestic and international business training, internships, and business seminars. Seminars cultivate specialized skills, foster the business acumen necessary in an increasingly globalized society, and develop "highly skilled business professionals" equipped with a new management mindset—the ability to generate ideas and make decisions based on broad knowledge.

Through the "Major-Minor System," students can flexibly combine their specialized field (theater/dance, music, visual arts) with knowledge and perspectives from other disciplines. This allows them to acquire "art plus α" skills, such as design thinking, a perspective on social issues, and the application of technology, in addition to the techniques and sensibilities of art itself. Complex combinations, such as video x music or stage x art management, are also encouraged, fostering expressive and practical abilities that meet the diverse needs of society.

As Japan's only academic program specializing in aeronautics, we cultivate specialists in air traffic control, aircraft management, airport management, and operations who will lead the future of aviation in Japan and the world. Our curriculum incorporates overseas training and internships, while offering a comprehensive education in aviation law, aviation-specific physics, mathematics, engineering, and economics/management, enabling students to acquire advanced expertise and outstanding English language skills.

Graduate School (International Graduate School of Advance MA Program in International Studies)

Special course

This is a preparatory education institution for international students who wish to attend Japanese schools, providing them with the opportunity to learn Japanese. We support learning tailored to individual levels, including basic and comprehensive Japanese language study, as well as purpose-specific learning aligned with their academic goals. The standard duration of study is one year, but it is possible to complete the program in six months (one semester) if a student has already secured a place at a Japanese university.
