[Class Introduction] Introduction to the Basic Education Subject College of Health and Welfare 'Basic Seminar Major Special Session'

University is a place for new learning and meeting new peers. College of Health and Welfare 's 'Basic Seminar' (commonly known as 'Basic Seminar') offers various programs to help you get to know the university, gain a perspective on university life, and build new opportunities.
The "major-specific sessions," held by students divided into six departments, are part of this effort. At university, even if you are in the same grade and major, opportunities to meet together are limited, and the "Specialized Sessions" in the Basic Seminar are a valuable opportunity to get to know students from the same major. Here are some highlights of the creative "major-specific sessions" of each major.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the first "Basic Seminar by Major" was held in the small chapel in the basement of the Crown of Thorns Hall for first-year students majoring in Early Childhood Education. On the theme of "Children's Play," faculty members took turns giving mini-lectures, and students experienced games such as finger plays using English, "Beast Hunting," newspaper games, and "Pot, Pot, Bottomless Pot" from a child's perspective. While enjoying the games to the fullest, they shortened the distance between classmates they hadn't spoken to before and deepened their bonds with their classmates in the major. They also learned firsthand about the importance of "the intentions of childcare providers, ingenuity according to the child's development, and methods of expression" behind fun games, making it a valuable opportunity to boost their motivation for the future.
