We will be holding a post-show talk with Dai Igarashi, the author of the original novel "The Two Worlds I Live In" (published by Gentosha), on which this work is based.

Dai Igarashi
Born in 1983 in Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture. Raised as a CODA (Children of Deaf Adults), with deaf parents.

She debuted as an essayist in 2020 with "Shikujiri Kazoku" (Failed Family) and as a novelist in 2022 with "Ephyra wa Oyogidasenai" (Ephyra Can't Swim).
A live-action film adaptation of "30 Things I Thought About as I Traveled Between the Hearing World and the Deaf World, Born to Deaf Parents" (later retitled "The Two Worlds I Live In" and published in paperback) titled "The Two Worlds I Live In" was released in September 2024. In addition, "The World I See as a 'CODA'" was selected as a required reading book (high school division) for the 71st National Youth Reading Essay Contest. Other works include "Going to Ask My Deaf Mother," "My Grandmother the Exorcist and Me," and "Those Hands Weave Tomorrow."
