This program aims to provide participants with practical learning opportunities to acquire fundamental knowledge of sustainability and build careers in the field of sustainability.

This program consists of guest lectures, seminars, and group work. By inviting leading figures in the field of sustainability as guests, participants will learn about the specific job responsibilities of sustainability professionals and gain role models for their sustainability careers. Through the seminars and group work, participants will gain practical knowledge about sustainability.
Furthermore, this program allows participants to receive individual online career mentoring. Through dialogue with their career mentors, participants can clarify their own career plans.

Students who meet the passing criteria for this program will be awarded the "Sustainability Beginner Certificate" certified by J. F. Oberlin University. It is a powerful tool to showcase yourself when seeking employment, changing jobs, or getting promoted.
This program will hold a follow-up course six months after the program ends. Students are invited to social media communities where people at the forefront of sustainability work gather and can interact continuously. This program will provide 100% assistance and support for your employment, career change, and promotion into a sustainability career even after the program ends.

Syllabus
Course Overview
This program provides participants with the knowledge necessary to become "sustainability professionals" through practical learning via lectures and group work. Furthermore, guest lectures by leading practitioners in sustainability will present participants with role models for sustainability careers, and career mentoring will be provided to clarify each participant's career plan. In addition, after the program concludes, mutual exchange and networking among sustainability professionals will be fostered through an SNS community.

Learning outside of class time
There may be pre-assignments for each session (the workload for these assignments is approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour).
Textbooks and reference books
Recommended reading: Post-COVID-19 – The Future as told by 10 Harvard Japanophiles – (Shincho Shinsho) Chapter 2: "Now is the chance to create a just and sustainable society (Rebecca Henderson)" and Chapter 3: "Trust will be the key word in the post-COVID-19 world (Sandra Thatcher)." These will be helpful in gaining an overview of sustainability as a whole.

Taku Kumazawa
Managing Partner, Social Impact Research Inc.; Lecturer, SBI Graduate School
He completed his master's degree at Keio University Graduate School and withdrew from the doctoral program at Waseda University Graduate School of Environment and Energy. After working at Nippon United Finance, SoftBank Internet Fund (fund manager), Wit Capital (IT sector analyst), HSBC Bank Investment Banking Division, and Mitsubishi UFJ Capital, he founded Social Impact Research Co., Ltd. in 2010. In the same year, he developed Japan's first unique quantitative impact assessment methodology, which has been disseminated to over 100 large corporations and NPOs, becoming a pioneer in impact assessment and impact investing in Japan.

J. F. Oberlin University Graduate School International Graduate School of Advance Professor
Completed doctoral coursework at Waseda University Graduate School of Commerce, Department of Commerce. Holds a PhD in Business Administration from Meiji University. Specializes in corporate finance and innovation theory. Vice President of the Japan Society for Labour Science and Vice President of the Japan Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Venture Business Consortium. His book "Japan's Strategic Executive Compensation System" received the Japan Society for Financial Management Award (Author's Category). Scheduled to publish "DX and Human Capital Investment" in 2023.
