J. F. Oberlin University Provided, the second installment of the Diversity in Work Style Series, the café opening startup program, has been launched. Delicious coffee, sweets, and a relaxing space. For those who dream of running such an ideal café, this program is available to help you clearly clear the path to opening your café step by step and reliably open your own café. Specialized instructors will fully support all students so that even those with no experience can confidently open a café.
From small local shops to well-known chain stores... Cafés have become an indispensable part of our lives. Why not aim to open the café you envision?

Many people are interested in opening a cafe but don't know where to start. This program's greatest feature is that it clearly defines the steps to opening a cafe and allows you to steadily progress step by step. Professional instructors will share everything you need to know and the key points you need to keep in mind to realize your dream cafe filled with your passions and interests. Of course, we will also honestly explain the realities of cafe management, where ideals alone are not enough, and we will do our best to help you make your cafe sustainable, as many cafes are said to fail within three years. Classes are held on Saturday mornings. Even if you are currently working another job, or if you are just a little bit interested in opening a cafe, you are more than welcome. Take the first step towards opening your dream cafe together with fellow participants!

Overview
| Course Requirements | ・Individuals (gender and age unknown) who are interested in opening a cafe and want to make it a reality. - Applicants must be able to complete all 6 sessions of 150 minutes each, plus assignments (video recordings will be provided for missed sessions. Bringing a laptop is mandatory). |

Syllabus
| Course Overview | This course focuses on "cafe entrepreneurship," one of the most popular small-scale businesses, and will be taught by experienced external instructors (professionals). The instructors will provide individualized and specific support to help each participant realize their dream of opening a cafe. After the program ends, we will build a network of alumni by accumulating alumni profiles and fostering interaction among alumni entrepreneurs. | |

Instructor Introduction
Shinji Hamamura
After graduating from university, I worked for management consulting firms and investment companies. I have over 20 years of experience in a wide range of industries, including the food and beverage industry, apparel, and the food and confectionery industry. My hobby is reading at cafes.
Masakazu Imai
He has held positions such as Executive Vice President of a company listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He has been involved in the launch and management of numerous cafes and restaurants. He travels around the country visiting restaurants and cafes on a daily basis, gaining a deep understanding of food culture.

STEP 1
Please fill in the required information on the application form and submit it.
- We will close registration once the maximum number of participants is reached. The questionnaire on the application form is intended to allow the instructor to understand the content in advance so that we can provide better follow-up support, so please answer as specifically as possible.

You will receive a payment instruction email from PayPal; please make the payment within one week.
- A PayPal account is required for payment. Please check the automated confirmation email you receive after applying for details on account registration.
- If you apply between the application start and Monday, January 9, you will News sequentially by email starting Tuesday, January 10.
- If payment is not received, your order will be automatically cancelled. Thank you for your understanding.

STEP 3
We will send pre-course information to those who have completed payment. [Scheduled for around January 27th (Fri)]
- We will send you information necessary for taking the course, such as how to contact the instructor, the classroom for the first lesson, and Wi-Fi setup instructions, so please be sure to check it.

Classes begin [February 11th (Sat)]
- Your instructor will support you, so please try to relax and not be nervous.

We do not accept refunds after payment has been made.
Please join Slack before the first class. You can join via the URL provided in the pre-course email.
We will be using laptops for lessons, so please bring yours to every class. We do not lend out laptops.
Assignments will be given for each class and will be due at the next session. Please be sure to complete them.
We will be conducting hybrid classes, but for a more effective learning experience, we recommend attending in person whenever possible.
If you will be completely absent from class, including online classes, please contact us in advance via Slack.
