College of Arts and Sciences provides comprehensive liberal arts and education related to specialized foundational academic disciplines, aiming to cultivate individuals with rich character who possess thinking skills, analytical skills, and flexible thinking skills backed by extensive knowledge and deep expertise.

College of Global Communication The Department of Global Communication aims to cultivate individuals who excel in languages, have high communication skills, and possess analytical and creative thinking skills, as well as planning and execution abilities for problem-solving. Through collaborative activities, we provide education that enables students to master the fundamentals of global leadership.

College of Business Management The Business Management Department provides education related to a wide range of professional development, aiming to cultivate talent with the business acumen necessary for the international community, think from broad knowledge, make decisions, and possess a new management mindset.

College of Health and Welfare provides education related to professional professional training, aiming to acquire solid knowledge and skills in specialized Area and to cultivate health and welfare experts with rich human qualities who can empathize with people's wishes, concerns, and joys.

College of Performing and Visual Arts pursues a wide range of fields in performing arts and visual arts, aiming to cultivate individuals who acquire skills applicable to society as art experts, and provides education related to comprehensive cultural education (arts-related fields).

College of Aviation The Aviation Department provides education aimed at training personnel who possess excellent English proficiency, highly specialized and reliable knowledge backed by engineering and other academic fields, and possess essential knowledge and skills that form the foundation of aviation.

College of Education and Social Transformation The Educational Inquiry Science category provides education aimed at cultivating individuals who acquire the knowledge and skills to solve human and social issues through academic inquiry methods, based on extensive knowledge of education, and who can demonstrate leadership for the growth of individuals and organizations.

J. F. Oberlin University Graduate School was established in 1993 and has aimed to realize and develop its founding philosophy by nurturing highly skilled professionals with an international perspective and training specialists in interdisciplinary education and research across academic Area.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, changes in the social environment have intensified both domestically and globally. In Japan, the population is rapidly aging and declining, and has continued to decrease since 2008. As a result, the effects are far-reaching, including a decline in economic growth, the need to reassess infrastructure due to aging and barrier-free infrastructure, and a polarization between urban and rural areas. In addition, we are increasingly facing unpredictable threats from nature, such as earthquakes and typhoons, and infectious diseases such as influenza and COVID-19, requiring swift responses each time. Furthermore, the development of information technology has made it easy to form networks with people all over the world and obtain various kinds of information. As a result, lifestyles are changing, values are diversifying, and society is becoming one that respects the well-being of individuals. On the other hand, problems such as discrimination and mental stress are becoming more apparent. On a global scale, many complex challenges are emerging one after another, including the increase in the world population and the resulting shortage of food resources and widening economic disparities, responses to new infectious diseases, the threat of conflict, war, and terrorism, and environmental problems such as climate change and biodiversity loss.

In Japan, the future society that the country aims for is being advocated as "Society 5.0," which states that "challenges and difficulties will be overcome by sharing diverse knowledge and information and creating new value that has never existed before." On the other hand, in order to drive scientific and technological innovation and realize the future society that the country aims for, it is essential to "promote fluidity that transcends the boundaries of fields, organizations, and sectors" and to "cultivate human resources who possess not only advanced specialized knowledge but also flexible thinking and innovative ideas that are not bound by conventional customs and common sense." It is also stated that "the role that graduate education plays in improving the quality of such human resources is important."

Thus, today, higher education is expected to constantly innovate, responding to societal changes and keeping pace with advancements in science and technology. We are required to seriously confront these changes and remain innovative at all times. In this context, our graduate school recognizes that aligning professional education with global graduate program standards is an urgent task in order to appropriately meet the needs of professional development in a global society.

In response to this, our graduate school will establish a "degree program system," the first of its kind among private university graduate schools in Japan, starting in 2021. This system will allow us to cultivate professionals who can contribute significantly to a highly intellectual-based society through interdisciplinary learning and research activities, and who can play an active role in society as high-level professionals based on their research achievements. By transitioning to a system of one graduate school and one major, we will further develop professional human resources that are better suited to the needs of a global society.

Degree Program in Language Education Practical Research conducts education and research on a wide range of communication theories and practices in a global society, aiming to cultivate individuals equipped with advanced knowledge, practical skills, and leadership who can serve as bridges to a global perspective.

The Psychology Practice Research Degree Program, based on clinical psychology and positive psychology, conducts research and practice related to mental health and a fulfilling life, with the aim of training mental health professionals and outstanding researchers.

Degree Program in Gerontology conducts education and research aimed at training highly skilled professionals and researchers with specialized knowledge and abilities to realize broader social participation of the elderly.

Degree Program in Gerontology conducts education and research with the aim of training highly skilled researchers capable of accurately studying and clarifying various issues of an aging society from an interdisciplinary perspective, as well as highly skilled professionals with practical application skills.

Degree Program in Business Administration conducts education and research aimed at cultivating highly skilled professionals who possess knowledge, skills, ideas, strategic thinking, flexibility to change, knowledge transformation and conceptualization, and risk-taking skills capable of making accurate business management decisions in an increasingly complex international competitive society.

Degree Program in Higher Education Administration Practice Research (Correspondence course) conducts education and research aimed at training university administrators (university management experts) who possess specialized knowledge and skills across university administration, management, and operations.
