Since its founding J. F. Oberlin University has emphasized language studies and a cosmopolitan outlook in its educational and research activities.The goal is to encourage each student to acquire a high level of ability in a foreign language, to ensure the systematic study of a specialty that suits the interests and concerns of the student, and to foster in the student a disposition that will enable him or her to be active in a globalizing, international society.
