Student Dormitories

J. F. Oberlin maintains one international dormitory, where students from many countries around the world live together with Japanese students. The international dormitory is not just a place to live but also has an important educational function: it is a miniature global community where students from a variety of ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds learn to coexist and cooperate. Various events are scheduled throughout the year, precipitating lively exchanges between Japanese students and students from other countries. The international dormitory is located just a few minutes’ walk from Fuchinobe Station on the JR Yokohama Line and from J. F. Oberlin’s Planet Fuchinobe Campus (PFC). Students with classes at J. F. Oberlin’s nearby Machida Campus can take a free school bus from Fuchinobe Station. The international dormitory has a capacity of 245 people. Most rooms are single-occupancy, with some double-occupancy rooms also available. Rooms come equipped with air-conditioners, showers, toilets, refrigerators, beds, Internet access, and other amenities.
