The English Language Program’s GLEE will present its second bilingual play on July 22, downstairs in the university’s chapel, Keikandō.

“GLEE” is an acronym derived from “Great Language Engagement in English.” Since April, a group of students interested in both English and drama has been creating and practicing an English-Japanese bilingual piece, with assistance from three ELP teachers. The result, based loosely on “Romeo and Juliet, is “Hideyoshi and Yo.” It follows the romance between a space alien who speaks only English and a samurai who can only understand Japanese. Will they manage to overcome the language barrier and find happiness together? Come and watch this tragicomedy to find out!

PlaceMultipurpose room in lower level of Keikandō (Machida Campus)
