Open lectures about Turkish culture to be held on June 1 and 4

Professor Şebnem Kurt of Akdeniz University in Turkey, one of J. F. Oberlin’s partner schools, will deliver two open lectures about Turkish culture. Students, faculty members, staff, and members of the community are all welcome to attend; no application or reservation is required.

First lecture: Turkish Folk Dances and Music

Professor Şebnem Kurt is an instructor in the School of Foreign Languages at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey. She teaches English to first-year university sutudents as well as to pre-university “Prep Year” students. She is a former Fulbright Scholar at Idaho State University (Pocatello, Idaho, USA), where she taught Turkish as a foreign language. Her interests are salsa dancing, Turkish folk dances, biking, and nature photography.
