As most people are aware, on April 25 an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck about 80 kilometers northwest of Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu. It was the country’s strongest earthquake in some 80 years and left more than 7,000 people dead and tens of thousands more injured; both numbers are expected to rise as rescue teams reach more remote areas.

J. F. Oberlin University is collecting donations to help the people affected by the quake. Donations will be accepted throughout the month of May and will be passed on to the National Christian Council in Japan for distribution to relief agencies in Nepal.

Boxes for donations have been placed in the following locations:

1) Office of International Programs (Meimeikan)
2) Student Affairs Section office (Meimeikan)
