Two programs at J. F. Oberlin University have been selected by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) for the first round of the "International Science Exchange Program for Youth (Sakura Science Program)" in the fiscal year 2022.

JFOU had 9 programs selected for this program in FY2021, and 224 international students from 14 overseas higher education institutions in 10 countries/regions participated in the program.
Although we were forced to switch to an online program in FY2021 due to the novel coronavirus, we were able to provide lots of international students with learning opportunities.

Faced with two crises, the global spread of the novel coronavirus and global conflict, we are learning the importance of problem solving from a global perspective.
The disruption of international travel has also called into question the value of "fostering global citizens through international exchange," which the university has cherished since its founding.

Based on the results of this project in FY2021, the University will continue developing face-to-face and online programs under the title of "OBIRIN SCIENCE CAMP (OSC)" with "science" as a keyword. The OSC seeks to connect students, faculty, staff, citizens, and businesses around the world who are working to solve social issues by disseminating the university's academic resources to the world, both in person and online, with "science" as its main focus.

Future initiatives and past years' results will be posted on the OBIRIN SCIENCE CAMP special website.
