On June 13, the People’s Republic of China’s Ambassador to Japan, Cheng Yonghua, invited 32 students from Japanese universities—including 13 students from J. F. Oberlin University—to the Embassy of China in Tokyo. Initiated by Ambassador Cheng, the event was designed to give the students an opportunity to consider the Japan-China relationship. Besides J. F. Oberlin University, students from Waseda University, Keio University, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies were also invited. One of the participating J. F. Oberlin students commented, “I could learn more about China through this dialogue, and I will think about the future of the relationship between China and Japan.”
