J. F. Oberlin University Kyudo Club
In 1970, Makoto Yamazaki, then a second-year student, founded the Kyudo (Japanese archery) club. Yoshiyasu Yoshida, the founder of the nationally renowned Seihō-ryū school of Kyudo, accepted the position of instructor, and Professor Soma, upon seeing the poster announcing the club's founding, offered to become its president. Things progressed rapidly, and the club headquarters was established.
One of the reasons why this relatively young dojo has achieved such good results is the presence of Master Yoshihiko Ishiyama.
Master Ishiyama is also a graduate of the headquarters and has achieved numerous accomplishments from his student days to the present. The opportunity to practice archery and learn under his guidance every day is something that other universities do not offer, and it is something that Obirin University can be proud of.
