[Archery Club] Men's team wins the All-Japan University Archery Selection Tournament for the second year in a row!

On Saturday, June 24, at the 35th National University Kyudo Selection Tournament held at the Meiji Jingu Martial Arts Hall Shiseikan Kyudo Hall, our university's boys' Kyudo Club won the team event championship for the second consecutive year.

Their opponent in the final was Kagoshima International University. Both teams fought fiercely, hitting 15 shots without giving up a single step, and in the overtime (a tie) shooting, they secured victory by just one shot with a score of 8-7.
The person who drew the bow at the end of the draw was captain Ken Usui (College of Health and Welfare, 4th year). In the final, Captain Usui used one shot to bring the game to a tie shooting, and the following shot was also a heated contest with no clear outcome until the very last shot. In the tense atmosphere, Captain Usui landed the final target firmly and secured the victory.

Captain Usui said, "I'm happy that we won the championship and achieved back-to-back victories. I think it was the result of being able to do what I always have to do in the matches. However, as a team, there are still many areas to be reworked on, so I want to shift my mindset and work hard toward the Intercollegiate and League competitions." He steeled his mindset.
