Team slogan for 2026: "Competition"
~Win 10th place in the qualifying round and secure 12 spots for Team A~
Team Goals
Participation in the Hakone Ekiden main race
From being the one who is chosen, to being the one who seizes.
Through internal competition, each individual pushes their limits.
The team aims to finish in the top 10 of the qualifying round and qualify for the Hakone Ekiden main race.
"Friends and rivals"
Within a relationship of mutual growth, changes have occurred within the department over the past year.
This embodies our strong desire to definitely secure a spot in the Hakone Ekiden main race.
Track and field team
J. F. Oberlin University The Ekiden team sets the top goal of 'qualifying for the main event of the Hakone Ekiden' and continues to challenge ourselves every day.
In addition to improving competitive skills, we value personal growth and strive to be a "supportive team."
In the 2024 academic year, Associate Professor Shinpei Fujita of our university's College of Health and Welfare was appointed as the department head, and with Kazunori Yamaji newly appointed as the new director, the new team began operations.
Currently, under that framework, we are working on further strengthening and organizational development.
Currently, there are about 60 members, and in addition to players from all over Japan, there are also international students from overseas.
Athletes from diverse backgrounds gather to inspire each other and work to improve their competitive skills.
Additionally, student staff are divided into three departments: management, trainer, and branding, each leveraging their expertise to support players and teams.
This system, which strengthens not only the competition but also the organization, is a major strength of our team.
In this way, players and staff work together as one, continuing efforts to achieve goals through the team's overall strength.
Furthermore, we are supported by the wishes of many people—parents, alumni, stakeholders, and local residents—and it is our important mission to remain a team that meets those expectations.
