Archery Club Introduction

In 1970, Makoto Yamazaki, then a second-year student, founded the Kyudo (Japanese archery) club. Yoshiyasu Yoshida, the founder of the nationally renowned Seihō-ryū school of Kyudo, accepted the position of instructor, and Professor Soma, upon seeing the poster announcing the club's founding, offered to become its president. Things progressed rapidly, and the club headquarters was established.
The headquarters, which is celebrating its 56th anniversary this year, has the following record of past victories.

Both our men's and women's teams belong to the top division league of the Tokyo Metropolitan Student Archery Federation, boasting one of the highest hit rates in the country. In 2021, the women's team achieved their 10th league championship. We have a new dojo completed in 2017, providing an excellent environment for practicing archery at the university level. Even if you didn't achieve great results in high school, if you love archery and aspire to be the best in Japan, please come and visit us.
