01: Obirin's position
He boasts an impressive record, including winning the Kanto Regional University Baseball Championship (2016), being the runner-up in the Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament (2016), and winning the Spring League Division 1 (2021)!
Our university's baseball team has been a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan University Baseball League since 2009. The Tokyo Metropolitan University Baseball League consists of 6 teams in the 1st Division and 10 teams in the 2nd Division.
Our university belongs to the Division 1 league. If we win the Spring Division 1 League, we will be able to participate in the All Japan University Baseball Championship (a tournament held every June at Meiji Jingu Stadium and Tokyo Dome to determine the best university team in Japan). If we win or come in second place in the Autumn Division 1 League, we will be able to participate in the Kanto Region University Baseball Championship (a tournament held every year at the end of October by the five university baseball leagues in the Kanto region (Kanto-Koshinetsu, Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo New League, Shuto League, and Kanagawa League), excluding the Tokyo Big6 and Toto University League). If we win or come in second place in this tournament, we will be able to participate in the Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament (a tournament held every November at Meiji Jingu Stadium to determine the best university team in Japan in the fall).
The conditions for promotion to the first division are to win the second division league and then play against the last-placed team in the first division in a playoff match (best of three matches).
02: Rules
A game played in an enclosed field between two teams, each consisting of nine players (or ten players under the designated hitter rule; 25 players are allowed on the bench), under the authority of one or more judges, and in accordance with the rules of baseball.
The offensive team's goal is for the batter to become a runner, and once they are runners, they strive to advance and score. The defensive team's goal is to prevent the opposing batter from becoming a runner, and if they do become a runner, to minimize their advancement. When a batter becomes a runner and legally touches all bases, that team scores one run.
Each team aims to win by scoring more points than the opposing team. At the end of the official match, the team with the higher score is declared the winner.
The Tokyo Metropolitan University Baseball League Division 1 uses a tie-break system. If the score is tied after 9 innings, the tie-break will be implemented from the 10th inning onwards according to the following procedure (if the game is not decided after 10 innings, the same applies to subsequent innings).
① The game will be played with no outs and runners on first and second base, continuing with the same batting order.
② In this case, the runners shall be the person who batted before the batter in the preceding paragraph as the runner on first base, and the person who batted before the runner on first base as the runner on second base.
③ In this case, pinch hitters and pinch runners are permitted.

04: Team Highlights & Selling Points
J. F. Oberlin University Baseball Club values the "thinking ability" of each individual to think and act independently. We hold repeated meetings to discuss 'What is missing right now?' I believe that good communication leads to results.
This year's team, led by captain Rikuto Hirama, is known for its close distance and cheerful atmosphere among members regardless of grade. The team's unity in play, which brings out each player's individuality, is also a highlight. You can also feel the expressions of the players returning from defense to the bench and their calls during the circle, so be sure to pay attention to those and visit the stadium.
