I want to share the joy I experienced through cheerleading with others.

The encounter with cheerleading, the interruption, and the resumption.

I started gymnastics at the age of two and dance lessons in elementary school. I don't remember what made me decide to do cheerleading, but I think cheerleading, which combines elements of both gymnastics and dance, must have seemed appealing to me at the time.

Due to various circumstances, I took a break from cheerleading in my first year of junior high school. However, after that, I had the opportunity to see a cheerleading performance, and the feeling of "I really want to do cheerleading again" welled up inside me. When I went to high school, I chose a school that had a cheerleading club. There were times when practice was restricted due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but I was able to be creative even in limited circumstances and dedicate myself to cheerleading to the fullest throughout my high school life.

The spot plays a role in providing a sense of security.

I went to J. F. Oberlin University because I believed I could grow through cheerleading. I attended the trial session and was amazed by the level far higher than high school. Many members came from strong schools, and I felt it was an environment where everyone could improve their skills together. Also, the presence of Yuka Arimoto, who was in the same cheerleading club in high school, was a big factor. I was drawn to the positive atmosphere where students took the lead in practice, and before long, I strongly thought, "I want to try performing here too."

When I first joined, I was desperate to keep up with the training, but at the Kanto Championship held in June, I was selected by the A team members. The tension of the tournament was high, but what left the strongest impression on me was seeing the members working their practice in preparation for the competition. I discovered that building the atmosphere and how training was conducted, and that "this is how strong teams approach practice."

The position I serve, called "spot," supports the top and base during stunts. When falling, I play the role of safely catching the top together with the base. This is an essential position for the success and safety of the performance. The spot is also called the "command center of stunts," always keeping track of the stunt situation and giving instructions to the top or base at the right moment. When the spot provides a sense of security, everyone can focus on their performance. I think this is a very important position.

We want to deliver inspiration through cheerleading.

Through cheerleading, I want to deliver inspiration to the audience. When I was away from cheerleading, and when I was wondering whether to continue cheerleading in college, I encountered amazing performances each time. The inspiration I felt from those performances is what motivates me to continue cheerleading.

I'm continuing to practice so that I can be selected as a member of Team A again for the JAPAN CUP to be held in August. I'm focusing not only on the precision of my technique, but also on improving the level of my routines other than stunts (jumps, dance, tumbling, etc.).

In the future, I want to be able to incorporate a "twist" into my tumbling. If I can master this technique, I can make an impact in the acrobatic section at the beginning of my routine and earn extra points. I definitely want to achieve this during my four years at university.

My university life has just begun. I'm interested in language learning, so I'd like to study English and Chinese. Balancing academics and cheerleading will be challenging, but I will dedicate myself to cheerleading with a strong desire for improvement and a grateful heart. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

With the goal of becoming "the strongest," we will overcome the disappointment of last year.
