Attendance is very important. There will be 90 class meetings during the semester. Only the students who have attended 60 class meetings or more can pass the course (letter grades A~D). If you miss more than 30 class meetings, you will automatically receive an F (Fail) as your final grade. Being absent from class on Tuesday means that you have missed two class meetings as the class meets for the first and second periods on Tuesday. You are expected not only to attend class regularly but also to actively participate in class activities.

Punctuality is also very important. Three late arrivals will be counted as one absence. This rule also applies to cases in which you leave a class early. If you are more than 30 minutes late arriving for a class or early leaving a class, you will be considered absent for that class.

遅刻や欠席の時は、できるだけ早く、教員に連絡してください。
If you are late for class or unable to come to class, please email the instructor as soon as possible.

クイズ、テスト、発表の日は特に遅刻・欠席しないように気をつけてください。その時間にいない人はできません。
Students must take quizzes/tests and present as scheduled. There will be no make-up quizzes/tests or presentations.
