College of Global Communication

The pace of globalization is rapidly accelerating, and there is a growing need for individuals who understand the dynamics of ongoing global changes, who are capable of envisioning a better global society, and who have the skills to realize this vision. The College of Global Communication aims to foster precisely this type of individual. Our students will gain competence in one or more foreign languages, well-developed critical thinking skills, and the ability to understand and collaborate with people of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds for the purpose of addressing global issues. During their first and second years, students will develop advanced linguistic skills in a foreign language, typically Japanese for international students. Building on that foundation, they will go on to enroll in specialized courses on topics related to Japan or global society, and undertake group projects.
