Open lectures about Turkish culture to be held on June 23 and 26

Instructor Huseyin Yigit of Akdeniz University in Turkey, one of J. F. Oberlin’s partner schools, will deliver two open lectures about Turkish history. Students, faculty members, staff, and members of the community are all welcome to attend; no application or reservation is required.

Hüseyin Yiğit was born in Eskişehir, Turkey, near the ancient city of Midas, and spent much of his childhood in Diyarbakır. Mr. Yigit graduated from teacher training college in 1985 and has an M.A. in ESP (English for Specific Purposes). He has been teaching English (grammar, translation, reading, and ESP) at Akdeniz University in Antalya for 29 years. Mr. Yigit has also been certified as a tour guide by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism for the same amount of time.
