J. F. Oberlin University’s cheer dance team, Cream, was successful once again at this year’s edition of the World University Cheerleading Championships, held on January 18 in Orlando, Florida, in the U. S. A., with Cream’s B team taking second place in the Pom Division. Cream has also dazzled the judges in the Jazz Division in past years, but because the Jazz Division has been eliminated from the Championships, this year Cream’s A team was only able to perform in an exhibition, not in a full competition.

Team captain Chiaki Kawashima, a third-year student in the College of Health and Welfare, commented, “With the Jazz Division no longer being contested, we were focused even more on doing well in the Pom Division. The difference between us and the winners, Chuo University, was tiny. We’ll go all out in practice to secure a berth at next year’s competition.”
