Special Lecture “Foreign Language Teaching in Beijing Language and Culture University” (Sept. 25)

Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), with which J. F. Oberlin has enjoyed a fruitful relationship for several years, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. BLCU is known as an important academic base for language education and cultural research. Its main focus is teaching Chinese language and culture to international students, and in this area it has the longest history and the largest student population and faculty. Known as the Little United Nations, BLCU has trained students to be proficient in the Chinese language and familiar with Chinese culture from 176 countries and regions. In addition to its focus on the Chinese language, BLCU has a large College of Foreign Languages. Professor Wu, from BLCU, is going to give a very inspiring lecture on foreign language teaching in this prestigious university.
