Japanese Language Courses

Graduate Students who enroll in J. F. Oberlin University Graduate School are expected to have a working knowledge of speaking, reading, and writing Japanese after a year of study here. In order to facilitate acquisition of Japanese to students not yet fully prepared to take their course work in Japanese, we have a structured Japanese language program that will cater to the needs of different students.

The Japanese Language courses are offered within J. F. Oberlin University's Reconnaissance Japan Program (RJ). Graduate students are welcome to take language courses here to prepare themselves for their graduate courses.

The following core courses are offered:

Also available for language learning is the Center for Japanese Language Resources (CJL) which is designed to support the needs of international students. CJL is staffed by language teachers who can help students use the center's resources, which include textbooks, workbooks, novels, PCs, audio cassettes, and some videos. CJL provides learning support based on the needs of the student visitor.
