Graduate Admissions Information, M.A. Program, J. F. Oberlin University
In principle, all courses at J. F. Oberlin University are conducted in the Japanese language; therefore, an adequate command of Japanese is required. Admissions examinations are conducted for both students intending to enroll in April and for those intending to enroll in September. Selections will be made based on the student's application and the results of the admissions examination.

| J. F. Oberlin University's proprietary Japanese language examination is not required for prospective international students who have passed the first level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, who have scored above 700 on the J.TEST, or who have scored above 300 in the reading comprehension, combined listening and reading comprehension, and listening comprehension sections of the Japanese language section of JASSO's Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), or who have passed 4 or more essay questions on the EJU. | |

| * | In addition to the various selection methods, each graduate school and major administers its own examination subjects. All interviews in the Japanese language are competitive. For details on the selection of applicants for admission, be sure to check the application guidelines. |

| * | Students who pass their examinations and have completed admissions procedures must apply for the appropriate residence status in Japan (a student visa). Each incoming student must go to a Japanese Immigration Bureau and complete all procedures required of applicants for this residency status. Important caution: it is not possible to change from a short-term residence visa to an international student visa. |
